IRSC Interior Design Program
Why choose Interior Design?
If you are imaginative, creative, organized, able to deal with deadline, and a good communicator, interior design is for you!
You'll enjoy the satisfaction of seeing your ideas become a reality as you work with clients to develop design solutions that are visually appealing and technically sophisticated.
Employment opportunities for interior designers are projected to grow through 2024 as the desire for ergonomic design, elder design, and environmental (green) design increases.
What will I learn?
You'll learn how texture, color, lighting, sustainable materials, and design elements combine and interact to create safe, comfortable and pleasing environments.
You'll study building codes and learn technical drawings and CAD skills to create environmentally responsible design plans for residential, commercial, kitchen & bath, and "Aging in Place"projects.
You'll get real-world experience by completing projects for the community and interacting with local professional design organizations.
With an A.S Degree in Interior Design, and approved work experience, you'll be eligible for the National Council of Interior Design Qualification Examination, NCIDQ. In addition, the Interior Design Technology Program's Kitchen & Bath Certificate meets the qualifications for a supported program by the National Kitchen & Bath Association, NKBA.
